Description
The Civil War Trip is our newest adventure. We love taking students who have studied the Civil War in classes like Mission: Hero, Price of Progress, or Authors of Liberty. Students still needing to study can use our provided book list or sign up for a class – we highly recommend online classes from The Learning Corner Online.
We believe in the Thomas Jefferson Education Philosophy of learning, which teaches that travel as field experience is an important pillar in a child’s education. Our Civil War trip begins in Pennsylvania and ends in Georgia. Students will experience major Civil War battle sites (such as Gettysburg National Military Park), museums (such as the American Civil War Museum), and the Andersonville National Historic Site (home to the National Prisoner of War Museum). They will experience the Civil War up front by seeing where the events happened, and they will come back enriched and changed for the experience.
The Civil War trip is $2000 per person and includes airfare, lodging, all meals, and admissions. Students are responsible for spending money. We have a limited number of chaperone spots, so parents must apply. We love to take school groups, so feel free to sign up your entire class. We hope to travel with you, and we are happy to answer questions. Email your questions to [email protected] or download the information sheet, which contains the itinerary and other pertinent information. We hope to be able to travel with you in 2025!
