Students will study several performing arts works on their own at home and then deepen their understanding and engagement with these works in a weekly 2-hour class. Drama warm ups, guided discussions, class activities, presentations, and more will be done as a class. At the end of the year, the class will perform a Shakespeare play.
This is an ideal first class for a middle school student, who is just beginning formal academic classes. Students will be invited to read, watch, and listen to a variety of performing arts works, complete writing assignments, memorize a soliloquy, give presentations in class and participate in the class’s Shakespeare production at the end of the year.

Stories From the Stage curriculum is so fun and easy to use!
The binder is fail-proof. Because everything was thought of in the binder (the weekly lessons so clearly laid out) my weekly preparation was minimal, which I so appreciated!
The classic Shakespeare mixed with modern musicals was so much fun. I loved the class schedule and discussion questions each week.
After we finished the class for the year the students were begging me to teach it again the following fall.
I will definitely teach the class again!
