Description

“Students need a forest of wisdom to thrive in the world today. We do this by planting one tree at a time.”

-Ginelle Showalter

Grow a Forest Book Club is an opportunity to prepare late Love of Learning students (ages 11 and 12) for Scholar and upper level classes in A Thomas Jefferson Education model. In this 14 week class we will be focusing on hands-on activities and book discussions. There will be homework opportunities to write opinion papers, memorize book quotes, and read books. We will be tracking the progress of each student and they will earn awards for the books read, memorize a quote associated with each book, and turn in an essay for each book. In addition to the 3 books we will be doing in class, the student will be expected to do a short presentation on a book of their choosing.
