Description
Mentor Skills Training is for adults who will teach a teenage scholar class in the upcoming 2025/2026 school year. This is not a class for those teaching elementary or Junior School age children. It is specifically meant as a companion training to any teen age level curriculum you will teach. Beginner mentors especially will gain valuable skills for mentoring in a group setting. Experienced mentors will enjoy the brush-up skills training.
This training works best if you are actually teaching a class as participants will be asked to share their curriculum with the trainer and also bring it to class. Exceptions can be made, but please convey those exceptions or questions to the trainer – Genevieve Arnold.
The annual scheduled training will take place via Zoom from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Mountain Standard Time on Friday June 20, 2025. This is in conjunction with The Art of Teaching and any other curriculum training that may be happening. If you take a training for another scholar class, this is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the basics before taking the curriculum training.
Trainings may also be scheduled throughout the summer of 2025 at both the trainer and mentor’s convenience. This training WILL NOT be offered as a recording (the recording can be made available for those who attend in person.) Please make sure that you can attend in person before you sign up.
Please contact Genevieve for scheduling or questions – curriculumsquare@gmail.com

This training was worth every penny, and more importantly was worth every minute of my time. The skills and knowledge gained will pay off in spades. This class definitely has value for both new mentors and experienced mentors. It was not just a brush up it was a step up! I feel much more prepared and confident about my ability to mentor and positively impact my class this coming year!
