Description
Our new nation, freed from British rule and war only four years prior, is experiencing some real growing pains. The Articles of Confederation are inadequate to the monumental task of organizing 13 countries into 13 states of the same country. Once again, delegates from all the states (except Rhode Island!) have come together to problem solve for this fledgling nation that has the eyes of the world upon it. What transpired in the 113 days of this convention changed the fundamental idea of what a self-governing nation could look like and set a precedent for the world. In this simulation, students will have the opportunity to debate and discuss the same topics that were at the forefront of this historic convention and discover for themselves the brilliance of the document it produced, the Constitution of the United States of America.
