Pattern and Possibility Mentor Binder (and Training)

$125.00

Welcome to Pattern and Possibility! This curriculum was designed to help students learn to think critically, see the world through the eyes of a mathematician or scientist, regardless of what their life plans are, and ultimately to find truth. They learn to do this as they begin to recognize patterns, engage with the natural world around them, ask questions, and then square those questions and answers with the truths in their core books.

Description

In this fun class, students will do experiments and activities, give presentations, write papers, read and engage with literature and documents, keep a nature journal, and ask lots of questions.  I’ve created this class with slightly older teenagers in mind. Usually students are at least 14–15 and have experienced a year or two of scholar classes.  It is a year-long class designed for two 15-week semesters, meeting together for 2 hours per week.

***When you order the Pattern & Possibility Mentor Binder before the 2024 Art of Teaching conference, you will receive an email with details to get the training for free.***

There are two downloads with this binder.  In addition to the binder there is a file for the foldable bookmark, to be used for all book readings and discussions.  It is in landscape, rather than portrait orientation, and needs to be printed back to back, flipped on the short side.
