This training is for mentors teaching the World of Writing class. This virtual training will take place over Zoom on Friday, June 21st, 2024, 12:30 – 2:30 pm MST.

World of Writing is a Love of Learning (8–12-year-old) class that uses fun and engaging activities and instruction to inspire students to put pencil to paper. In this training you will gain knowledge and skills that will help you teach this class with more confidence.

This training is for mentors teaching the World of Writing class. This virtual training will take place on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 12:30 – 2:30 pm, MST.

World of Writing is a class for 8–12-year-olds that will introduce students to a variety of writing skills. This class will start with different styles of comics, moving on through writing picture books, poetry, and opinion papers. The students will have the opportunity to create a class newspaper and will have fun with creative writing and essays. Students will find their voice, and learn basic grammar, along with discovering authors in different fields studied throughout the year.

PREREQUISITE: Mentors are REQUIRED to take the Love of Learning Mentor Skills Training taking place on Friday, June 21, 2024, to prepare for this training.
