Mentor Training – Game Builders

This training is for mentors teaching the Game Builders class. This virtual training will take place over Zoom on Friday, June 21st, 2024, 3:00 – 5:00 pm MST.

Game Builders is a Love of Learning (8–12-year-old) class that uses the fun of learning game design to teach important skills such as logical thinking, diplomacy, and the importance of reworking to make a creation better. In this training you will gain knowledge and skills that will help you teach this class with more confidence.

Description

This training is for mentors teaching the Game Builders class. This virtual training will take place on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, MST.

Game Builders is a class for 8–12-year-olds that will introduce students to game design. Students will be encouraged to explore playing and creating different genres of games. There are four units that will be focused on, including dice games, Role-Playing Games, card games, and board games.

PREREQUISITE: Mentors are REQUIRED to take the Love of Learning Mentor Skills Training taking place on Friday, June 21, 2024, to prepare for this training.
