Description
There’s an age at which kids are looking for more than Love of Learning classes. As parents and mentors, it’s exciting watching for this time to arrive. We want them to develop into scholars and life-long learners, who are serious about their education and ready to submit to a mentor. However, there are scholar skills that most Love of Learners still lack.
As a teacher of early Scholar classes, I noticed a pattern in my classes. Students who had the opportunity to learn and practice basic Scholar skills, such as note taking or presenting, before they took a Scholar class were prepared to learn more in the class than those who didn’t. Enter the Transition Phase.
Transition is that level that builds a bridge between Love of Learners and Scholars and prepares youth for a successful Scholar experience. In this presentation, I’ll talk about basic scholar skills your students need. I’ll also share how to teach those skills to your students who are ready for more but still need to have fun and enjoy what they’re learning.
