Description
Say curriculum breaks down the writing process into specific steps that build upon each other. There are 14 class periods and it’s for 4-10 students, ages 15 and up.
A significant portion of this class utilizes hands-on activities or workshops to engage the students in learning a specific writing concept. The classes employ a variety of learning styles to teach each step of the writing process and connect to the activity in a way that best helps students learn.
Students will participate in:
- 4 book discussions
- 4 peer reviews
- 10 writing lessons
- 10 in-class workshops
- 9 activities
- 8 mini-essays with personal feedback
- 1 final research paper
The Mentor Manual includes directions on how to teach each lesson and how to run all the simulations, workshops, and lectures. It also includes mentor resource files like slideshows, worksheets, and digital simulation content.
