Description
Welcome! This simulation is designed to help high school students experience the process of evaluating governmental controls and programs associated with healthcare in the United States. Students will discover the pitfalls and the benefits of such work. It is closely patterned after real commissions, scenarios, and roles. It provides a valuable and rich opportunity to consider how experts come together to solve problems, how commissions work, and the beliefs of socialism vs the work of preserving liberty while protecting and promoting the health of the citizenry.
This simulation is appropriate for older teens (ages 15 and up) and can be completed in one class period. This activity would work well in the following type of classes, for example:
â—Ź Leadership
â—Ź Civics/government
â—Ź American history (especially 20th century history)
â—Ź Simulations class
