Description
The world is full of different reasons to write. It is a key of communication that can take many forms. It can make people laugh, cry, think, and become inspired. It is a voice that has the potential to reach farther and last longer than our physical limitations allow.
This Love of Learning style class will introduce 8-12 year old students to a variety of writing skills. This class will start with different styles of comics, moving on through writing picture books, poetry, and opinion papers. The students will have the opportunity to create a class newspaper, and will have fun with creative writing and essays. That’s right! Essays can be fun! Students will find their voice, and learn basic grammar, along with discovering authors in different fields studied throughout the year.
Teacher Genne’s Writing Class –
Dear Penny,
Hello. We are Kole Keener, Steele Keener, and Josie McDonnell, and we are taking a class with Ms. Genevieve. The class is called World of Writing. We wanted to say how thankful we are for writing the World of Writing book. Josie loves it because we learn new stuff like how to write letters and how to write poems. Steele likes it because it’s a fun book. The emojis and the papers that we can write on are funny. Kole likes this book because he can learn how to write. His favorite thing he wrote so far was a limerick about a toilet and a nose. It was so funny!
We just wanted to say thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Sincerely,
Kole (age 10), Steele (age 9), and Josie (age 10)
