Description
This is a fun, 14 week class designed to help late Love of Learning students (ages 11 and 12) transition into Scholars (ages 12 and above) inspired by the ​Harry Potter ​ series and following A Thomas Jefferson model of education. Every week, for one semester, we will tackle a different subject taught at schools for wizards and witches. The goal is to inspire the students in their education as budding scholars through the fantastic world and ideas conveyed in the Harry Potter series of books. Each subject has been adapted into a real world project or lesson. There is, also, a list of tasks for the student to tackle at home to help prepare them for the homework they will receive in their Scholar level classes. The one hour long lessons can be done in any order you need and projects can be changed to fit what you need and the supplies available to you.

I used this curriculum for my class last semester. It is well laid out and very thoughtful. It gives ideas, but also leaves freedom to choose and make it your own. It was a great outline/curriculum for me and extremely helpful when it came time to teach. I used a lot of the ideas and came up with a few of my own. I am a Harry Potter fan and couldn’t was so glad I was able to use this to teach my students and have them learn and grow from all requirements that they were encouraged to do.

Now having almost completed it I am even more grateful for this class. The topics are easy to navigate but also very easy to adjust for the needs of our class. This has been an amazing curriculum to help our older love of learners get ready to become scholars.
