Description

This year’s Art of Teaching will focus on teaching with beautiful books and super skills.  What is new and innovative out there for us to bring into the classroom when it comes to literature? How can we best use books to teach hard history? Find out how to choose books that are right for your course and for your students. Learn about tips to expand your teaching skills in important ways. Develop the tools to teach this rising generation of students and make their learning experience the best it can be? Our keynote speaker and breakout sessions will help you be ready and prepared.

Introducing the 2024 Keynote Speaker – Amber Johnston (www.heritagemom.com)

Teaching Hard History With Beautiful Books

Amber writes, “Home educators are more motivated now than ever to have meaningful conversations with their children about our country’s complicated past and the forces that shaped the society we live in today. But most of us never learned about the tough topics in school, and the books traditionally read in homeschool circles rarely provide much assistance. During our time together, we’ll discuss how to approach hard history in our classrooms with honesty and compassion in an age-appropriate way.”

Important – all sessions will be online using Zoom.  Reminders and a Zoom link will be sent via your registration email.

Session times are all in Mountain Standard Time.
