Science causes homeschoolers more anxiety than almost any other subject — especially at the high school level. Most colleges require 2–3 years of science, including at least one lab course. Lab equipment is expensive, and sourcing materials takes time most parents don’t have.
That’s exactly why science belongs in a co-op.
Costs and prep are shared. When several families split the materials list, a lab class becomes affordable — and no single parent carries the whole load.
Science classes are the fun ones. Hands-on experiments, group projects, and messy discoveries work better in a room full of kids than at a kitchen table.
A strong science program attracts families. If your co-op offers real lab science, word gets around.
You don’t need a scientist to teach it. A willing parent with 1–2 hours a week of prep and a solid curriculum can learn alongside the students and deliver a fabulous class. Our curricula are written for exactly that parent.

Junior School Science
- O.W.L. Lessons — a 14-week wizard-school semester for ages 11–12, where Herbology, Ancient Runes, and Arithmancy become real botany, coding, and logic
- Cell Simulation Relay — an active, whole-body way to learn how cells work
- Explore Deserts and Oceans Thematic Unit — earth science through two dramatic ecosystems
- Founding Farmers — agriculture and life science, early-America style
- Junior Physics — real physics concepts, scaled for younger learners
- Land of the Free — life principles learned through the character of a farmer (designed for ages 12+, with modifications for ages 9–12)

Middle School and High School Science
- Art of Botany — two classes in one: high school botany with experiments and ecology, paired with step-by-step botanical illustration
- TNT High School Physics — a full-year, lab-ready high school physics course
- Jurassic Planet Space Science RPG — space science taught as a role-playing adventure
- The Quest: A Science RPG — physical and earth science, RPG style
- Land of the Free — not a gardening class: students learn the principles that support freedom by living the habits of a farmer
- Pattern and Possibility — STEM meets literature: students learn to recognize patterns in the natural world and think like scientists
- Science Fair Kit — run a science fair for any age group
